Home Helper Services

Golden Age Home Helper Service is focused on keeping the home clean and organized, as well as assist with meals.

Services included:

  • Light housekeeping: Organizing and maintaining a neat, orderly home supports quality of life and mental health and stability.
  • Change linens and make beds: Providing a clean, hygienic space provides a sense of well-being and supports proper sleep.
  • Meal preparation, planning, and clean-up: Involving the client in an assistive role provides a sense of empowerment and supports good nutrition.
  • Check food expiration dates: Disposing of unsafe food on a regular basis promotes good health and supports proper nutrition.
  • Prepare grocery lists: Involving the client  in meal planning provides a sense of empowerment and independence.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange transportation: Attending scheduled doctors appointments is a critical part of maintaining health.
  • Laundry assistance: Our in-home caregivers provide laundry assistance including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes.

Personal Care Services

Personal Care Services are there to help you with the normal day to day care activities.

  • Bathing, Grooming and Dressing: Personal care assistants help with daily hygiene to support self-esteem and empowerment
  • Toileting & Incontinence: Personal care assistants help with toileting and incontinence issues to supports the client’s dignity and self-esteem.
  • Mobility Assistance: Safe mobility with or without assistive devices such as canes or walkers is a constant focus of our personal assistants.
  • Monitoring diet and feeding assistance: Personal care assistants ensure diet recommendations and restrictions are upheld and provides assistance with feeding if necessary.
  • Medication Reminders: Adhering to medication schedules is a key element to recovery and health maintenance.
  • Safe Exercise and Movement: Ensuring safe mobility and providing assistance when necessary allows for safety and empowerment.

Companion Services

Companionship supports emotional and mental well-being.

  • Conversation: As aging occurs, social interaction becomes less a part of daily schedules. Sharing a meal and conversation with a companion can reduce loneliness.
  • Play games or cards: Providing social interaction, stimulating mental awareness, and practicing analytical thinking encourages quality of life.
  • Assist with reading: Whether the client prefers to read or be read to, our companions can help.
  • Mobility Assistance: Maintaining appropriate levels of physical activity supports overall physical and mental health. Accompanying the client on short walks inside or outside while staying within recommended parameters is helpful to maintain a sense of well-being.
  • TV Channel & Movie selection: Nurturing interests through movies and TV shows can help reduce loneliness and create intellectual stimulation.
  • Plan visits or outings: Venturing out and creating new experiences is important to maintaining mental health and can impart a sense of adventure.
  • Answering the door: Companions can screen visitors and assess the safety of visitors before entering the home.
  • Appointment reminders: Companions help manage appointment schedules and ensure transportation is arranged.
